I was obsessed with the song and video from day one and never got tired of it. To this day I cannot phantom how it's not been a #1 everywhere.

Slave was just too early and too soon to start that ****/slutty image because her fans where still too young.. and ofcourse, the radio ban.

The music video was ahead of its time, the song although iconic with Britney's voice, had a kind of Janet vibe with a touch of the Neptunes. But yes, it was impressive to see that under 10 years old, I had never seen anything like it in my life.

Imagine some users comparing slave to these other songs... It was absolutely ahead of its time. Any song from any era has same styling but there's literally no other song or MV like it.

I still can't believe ITZ was made just 2.5-3 years after Oops... Like completely different vibes and the sound.

Jive should of left her as a pop artist rather than work with hip-hop producers and R-Kelly.  But Hip-hop was taking over back then and they said she'd have to move to an adult audience.  In hindsight this was a disaster as Taylor Swift keeps on with the same suburban child audience.
