Photographer Markus Klinko recalls Britney telling her father to “get out” during a photoshoot

“She was so in charge. Probably no one else, except David Bowie, was so creatively in charge and never sought a second opinion from her management, publicist, or anyone else.

She was in very revealing lingerie, laying in the bed and with the pillow and all that. But at one point, she noticed that her dad came by the set. She immediately grabbed the blanket, covered herself and said, ‘Dad, get out! I’m doing something.’ He left immediately. Although her dad and her management were all present on the location, they all sort of went off to play cards in a back room for the next 12 hours and barely appeared.”

Klinko was approached by Britney’s stylists, Kurt & Bart, for the gig. He considered it an "honor" since the Princess of Pop had risen to a level of fame rivaling that of Michael Jackson or Madonna.

“They contacted me and said, ‘Britney wants to hire you for a very, very personal project for her tour.’ I got a lot of music requests at that time, but nothing could have been better or more exciting for me than hearing from Britney — and especially through sort of almost private channels. It felt very personal."

It wasn’t long before Britney showed up at Klinko’s Manhattan studio, thrilled to execute a specific vision that she conceptualized herself. He only had a matter of days to build sets that aligned with her imaginative ideas.

"Kurt & Bart sent over a photo of a napkin on which Britney had jotted down some key words of inspiration that she wanted to integrate into our photoshoot. Some of these key words were ‘ice princess,’ ‘magic forest,’ and ‘jazz lounge.' She and I worked very closely as a creative team.

She was incredibly process-oriented and gave it her all, and powered through a 14-hour workday that wrapped up in the early hours of the morning. Never once did she say, ‘Oh, it’s getting late, I’m tired.’ She was always like, ‘What are we doing next?’

“In 2004, I had already worked with my fair share of the most beautiful supermodels and celebrities on Earth. But when Britney walked into the room, she took my breath away. I thought to myself, ‘This is probably the most attractive woman on the planet, She truly stood out as the ultimate goddess.'"

I think there will be some amazing photoshoots in the future.  She's looking 10 years younger than Femme Fatalney these days especially in her recent IG posts.  With the right makeup, hair and styling we will get another iconic shoot.  We can dream, sis

“I bet you anything that if I get six hours or eight hours with Britney in the next few weeks or whatever that I can not only repeat [the Onyx Hotel tour book shoot] but I can top it,” he says.  

“[Her current team knows] that this is an offer that I made and I’m waiting for. This is now 20 years later. This is a Britney in a completely different situation. She has her power back.”

Yeah. I agree it's a really nice compliment. And we know our girl is genuinely creative and has always been. Only one thing that bothers me about this photoshoot is that they edited Britney's body and face too much, they don't really look like her. But i dig this fairy purple jungle vibe, good job. But way too much photoshop.

His style is very surrealist like David LaChapelle..fit perfectly for the Onyx theme
