Madonna has been re-certified by the Guinness World Records as the biggest-selling female recording artist of all time. She has reportedly sold more than 400 million records, albums, singles and digital during her 40-year music career.

According to the website, she has held the record since 2009, with Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé following right behind.

Guinness has low standards.. The source is Madonna herself claiming it in a talk show. I have no doubt she actually is the best selling female artist, but she could as well have inflated these numbers by 100 million and no one would question it.

She had a global hit in the late 2000s. 4 Minutes was everywhere and she followed it with her highest selling tour.

Also what does your comment have to do with her being the highest selling female musician? The Beatles disbanded in 1970 and have only two surviving members left and are still the highest selling band and overall music act after decades.
