Can we talk about how ABSURD this "live" performance was?

The song is on Oops!…I Did It Again and the concert is from 2002! :katyclown_makeup_mess_pie_meme_smile:

Wrong.

I played the video and it’s dubbed with ‘Why Should I Be Sad.’ Nice try :bedtime_britney_book_Reading:but I own a Britney library book that says this song is on Into The Zone!!!!

I never understood why the vocals of the song were deepened to the point of almost sounding like a man.

Did they really think people would be dumb enough to believe she's "singing live" with deeper CD vocals?

Why didnt she just at least sing this song live?

It was the only ballad of the show and she was just LITERALLY STANDING IN ONE PLACE THE ENTIRE TIME!

I just think she didnt give af about live vocals anymore and just completely fell into lipsyncing during this era.

i agree and I feel relly bad about myself that I adore a singer that does this kind of thing.

every pop artist does lipsync as a BACK track... EVERY SINGLE ONE. but Brit uses the playback as the MAIN track and her vocal appears SOMETIMES... thats such a bummer. and we fans have to admit its NOT ok.

@Fabricio Alex here let me explain.  This is the key that she performs the song in when she actually sings live, so this is the key that the band learned to play the song in. When they dubbed the performance for the DVD, they pitched the studio vocal down instead of using live or prerecorded vocals.

So everything is in the proper key meaning the singing and the music are both matched. But since the voice was pitched down significantly it is distorted to sound deeper

do you really believe that?

i understand everything you said but i just dont buy it. :nonono_britney_nope_head_shake:

What do you mean? That’s exactly what happened. Go back and watch videos where she sang this live. She sang it in this lower key. So whenever she performs it it and doesn’t sing live they use the pitched down vocals.

@Fabricio Alex I forgot to add that this video is also pitched down so that copyright would not strike it on upload so in addition that makes the vocals sound even deeper.

Studio version is in E major,

When she performs the song live they play it down a half step at E-flat major, whether live or lip synched.

And this video is down another half step to D-major

sorry but in my dvd its maleney singing, not the e-flatiney.
