Everyone complaining about Brit not on the list but let’s be honest: what was the last time she gave a good performance? And her great performances are relegated to MTV. And also, Adele, Beyoncé and Taylor heck even John are more fresh and relevant because they still touring (not Adele right).

Relevancy and being “fresh” doesn’t matter. Taylor and Adele shouldn’t be on this list if Britney isn’t on the list. Name a good Taylor performance. Adele? You can’t

I think people here the meaning of a perfomance what Britney does. Perfomance it’s not always several dancers, a theme, hardcore choreography etc. You can’t just narrow down to that.

Then by your logic Celine Dion and Elton John should be on the list as well since they both really just stand or sit when they sing yet are both acclaimed performers as well. You can’t narrow it but that’s what the majority bases on what makes a performance “great.” Why is it that everyone always tries to put on grand spectacles for awards shows and Super Bowl performances? Because they’re entertaining. A great performer is able to captivate audiences by performing well AND putting on a great show with visuals and everything that comes with it. That’s not to say the others can’t be “great performers” but should be in a different class of performing and definitely underneath the true performers
