Beyoncé and Lady Gaga are peers - literally coming up as solo artists at the same time. 
 

Taking inspiration from Bowie and Madonna from decades ago is not the same thing as Beyoncé copying Gaga from 5 years ago. 
 

Copying your peer is uninspiring and very sad.
