It's not only with Britney. It's how photoshoots work. They tend to use a lot of lighting to make the skin more smooth and even during post-production.

Beyonce for example doesn't even look like she's black on some photoshoots :

Oh wtf  although it still looks ok she’s literally white with a spray tan if she was POC then this would be a problem
