Kylie minogue launched her 2006 homecoming tour of Australia, after a 18 month postponement

In, 2005 Kylie minogue went on her Showgirl: The Greatest hits tour in support of her 2004 Best of, Ultimate Kylie (which is no secret among the #Lovers and I'm sure the industry as well, @Prachi), that the album was released to do damage control after the disastrous commercial reception of Body Language, as it failed commercially and critically compared to 2001's Fever. 

 

Outside slow (her lowest selling number one single in the UK) she really didn't have a huge hit to help make longevity of that album, to guarantee a world tour. 

 

So that tour happened but right before her tour of Australia, another bump happened.  

 

Kylie minogue, was diagnosed with breast cancer, thus cancelling not only her leg in Australia, but her Glastonbury festival as a headliner, which made her 2019 legends slot, so emotional for her, as she finally got to perform at the festival, and it's still to this day the most viewed performance from any Glastonbury ever. 

 

So in 2006, she finally was cleared, and launched a two month tour of Australia (just Melbourne and Sidney, a month long residency at each venue.) And a brief tour in the UK in late 2006, january 2007 (with a few cancelled shows due to upper respiratory infection, even though she cut the show in half, she sang a few a capella songs, just as an informal apology for ending the show in half..

 

Unlike most kylie tours (except Golden), the team decided to give her a 30 minute interlude splitting the show in two halfs, so she could get some rest, as her body wasn't fully recovered.  

 

Her documentary of the tour, White diamond: A personal portrait of Kylie minogue, showed her as a trooper, with bruises and all, due to her body taking some wear and tear as she was medically released, but not fully recovered from the effects of chemotherapy and radiation and a partial mastectomy. 

 

But she pulled thru and even tweeted about it, saying out of all her tours, this one is special to her, cos she's never late. 

 

But a year and a half was as she said to Sidney, was fashionably late, and I mean fashionably.
