''3'' Is Such a Forgotten Hit

I remember this song being everywhere in 2009, it was #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and now it seems like it's ''forgotten''... not only by general public but fans as well. It definitely didn't age like Toxic, Baby One More Time and her other iconic hits. The song is still a banger tho

Definitely in my top 10 Britney songs. It’s pop perfection, yet still under appreciated somehow? I don’t get it. Plus the video is hot

I love the song, I wouldn't say it's one of my fave Britney songs but it's catchy and fun to listen to. The video is great too with all the different outfit changes.

It does seem to be forgotten about though, especially for a US number one single.

3 and HIAM are two Britney singles that debuted at #1 and then were essentially never seen again.

I loved this when it was released and I still really like it. But you are right, I always forget it even exists. And then i’m like OMG I can’t believe forgot! I kinda feel like it’s a combination of the fact I always think of a track list number when I see the title and the fact that it’s production was very at the moment and seemed to follow a trend vs. being ahead of it. (Not that that’s a bad thing, but you get what i’m saying.)

It's overplayed for me. I've listened to it way too many times. I'll need to see it remixed and maybe reimagined for a performance one day but honestly, it had its momentum.  Now... Well..

It’s forgotten because the song was a money-grabbing, cash cow attempt for Jive Records and Dr. Luke…and surprised? It’s short term purpose was fulfilled. The song is simply disposable, cheap, tacky, lacked any emotion and everything in between. I’m sure Britney’s even forgotten about it and as she rightfully should.

It's not one of my faves but I still really like it. It's a shame she didn't add it to the circus tour when it was released

I do remember by the time of pre-release there was a supposed 3 instrumental that turned out to be fake

It was midtempo and eletronic

I always forget about 3 but when I listen to it - it’s a song I enjoy

3 was a big hit for her back in the day and is still very much a bop - but yes, sadly, it is forgotten. Maybe if it had been added to a Circus re-release instead of TSC it might have been more remembered through that exposer. It might have also been eventually  lost in the shuffle amongst the many, many other pop songs out at that time.
