It's plausible. But also she was exhausted and overly medicated on that tour. And she literally started to deteriorate in front of our eyes.

I can't remember what doco it was in, but recently I saw a video of Britney doing Bretts makeup and it actually looked like she was using good technique.

I do think they probably cut out makeup artists to save money & let her do makeup herself.

I wouldn't be surprised if they fired their makeup artist to save money (such as costumes and stage props that were salvaged from previous tours). The residence did not cost much in the end in raw materials ...
