Former Nickelodeon Star, Drake Bell, Pleads Guilty for Child Endangerment & Disseminating

UPDATE: Drake Bell pleads guilty to the charges brought upon him and faces two years in prison. 

 

 

Jared "Drake" Bell, best known for starring in Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh, has pleaded not guilty to endangering a child in Ohio.

According to Cuyahoga County court records, Bell, 34, was charged with attempted endangering of a child, which is a fourth-degree felony charge, as well as disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a misdemeanor.

What does disseminating mean?
Disseminating matter harmful to juveniles establishes that any material or performance is considered ‘obscene’ when considered as a whole.

The charges stem from a December 2017 interaction between Bell and a 15-year-old child at a Cleveland nightclub, Tyler Sinclair, a spokesperson for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley, told BuzzFeed News.

In a statement, Sinclair said the child filed her case in Canada in 2018, which authorities brought to the Cleveland Division of Police. The subsequent investigation found the alleged victim had established a relationship with Bell "several years prior" and had attended a concert of his in December 2017.

"While there, Bell violated his duty of care and, in doing so, created a risk of harm to the victim," Sinclair said. "The investigation also revealed that months leading up to the concert, Bell sent the victim inappropriate social media messages." It is not immediately clear what prompted the charges, however, Fox8 News has reported that Bell allegedly engaged in an inappropriate chat with a victim ‘that, at times, was s/exual in nature.’ 

Bell posted a $2,500 on Thursday and was also ordered to provide a DNA specimen.

"All facts will be revealed in a courtroom," Bell's lawyer, Ian Friedman, told the Associated Press. Friedman could not be reached by BuzzFeed News.

Court records show Bell resides in Los Angeles and is scheduled to appear in court via Zoom on June 23.

Can't these people just be creeps in their heads? There's so many male celebrities and influencers that try to hook up with underage fans. Like, you're a celebrity, so if anything gets out, you're done for, but I guess that's what happens when you only think with your d1ck. It's what he deserves. No wonder Josh Peck wanted nothing to do with him. And to think that people actually tried to drag Josh for it.

As someone who grew up watching Drake and Josh I'm so disappointed in this news. One of his ex-girlfriends accused him of physical and emotional abuse on TikTok last year too.

Its a shame cause I loved him in Drake and Josh SMH

Oh well that's amazing you learned a second language. I tried learning Spanish and it's so hard. 

"Jesus juice" was a phrase that was allegedly said by Michael Jackson during his s/ex scandals with underage boys. Supposedly he would give the boys wine to impair them but he would tell them it was Jesus juice (Jesus juice because Jesus turned water into wine).

So the way I was using that phrase with regards to Drake, was me saying maybe he gave the 15 year old girl alcohol in the club.

Honestly the choosing of words and this reporting was so light.  This is more then child endangerment. This totally caught me off guard.
