This day in 2002: Britney Spears received the Children's Choice Award for her contributions to the less fortunate (November 4)

On November 4, 2002, Britney Spears received the Children's Choice Award in Los Angeles, at Neil Bogart Memorial Fund's "Bogart Tour for a Cure". The Neil Bogart Memorial Fund (now Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program) used to recognize celebrities and other personalities for their contributions to the less fortunate, and was dedicated to provide money to cancer patients at the children's hospital in L.A.

Among the things why Britney was awarded for were the playrooms that were built at hospitals for sick kids through the Britney Spears Foundation, the million dollars that were raised through the Dream Within a Dream Tour for the children of victims of the 9/11 attacks, and the creation of the Britney Spears Camp for the Performing Arts for under-privileged kids where they could take singing, acting and dance lessons.

Several celebrities attended the event such as Cameron Diaz, Lindsay Lohan and Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer, with live performances by Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Ashanti and Michelle Branch.

Thanks for this, Pokemon. The pictures are beautiful. SHE is beautiful. That dress (she said by Giorgio Armani?) is more beautiful than I remember. She looks effortlessly gorgeous. And DAT A SS.

I love that she met Cameron Diaz! Another beautiful and powerful woman.

But something about this saddens me... Look at that red carpet interview, those faces gestures, the way she talks... That's so 1998-2008. She totally lost that afterwards. I guess it's the medication? I wanna cry... :(

I feel like she was heavily medicated (those meds can affect your core being) & her spirit was broken from multiple things.

No, I think she was still dating Jared. I think by that time Justin was hooking up with Alyssa Milano, he only started dating Cameron in early 2003, after Britney went to his bday lol It seemed like until early 2003 Britney still had smt with Justin, according to Johnny Wright and Fred Durst. 

Btw, before dating Justin, Cameron praised Britneys body on some interview lol
