I imagine in the future that everyone will have something like this and on a more insane level like commercials in your brain that you’ll have to pay to get out of. And like having to pay a fee to wake up in the morning and use your body. Crazy scary, no thanks. This is just the beginning.

That's not how it will work. It's not something that is "running", its a passive conductor that only reacts to impulses sent by your brain activity. It will catch strokes and other natural brain issues (or malfunctions), but it won't be an actual device that is "on" in order to malfunction.
