According to the article:

An unnamed source told the magazine that Spears had a "small part" in the video, which was shot Wednesday in Los Angeles. A "set source" told UsMagazine.com that Spears does not interact with the group in the video, and shot her scenes at the Warner Bros. lot Wednesday while the Dolls filmed in Hollywood. "In the scene shot [Wednesday], Britney is driving in a car," the source said. "They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic — that is it. Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde. It is a very short sequence, but [Britney] had a lot of fun with it. Britney really likes the Dolls' music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video."

 

I remember waiting for the video premiere..I was  so excited and when I finally saw it I was so disappointed..

I'm not sure if we'll ever see it. Apparently it was cut because it didn't make sense in the context of the rest of the video. Or the scenes didn't match up or something.

Ugh if it was actually scrapped then I don’t have any more hope to get something new at least for the first three months of the year  everything she does is scrapping and scrapping so we are never blessed with her music and art

This is what I recall. Some kind of technical problem rendered the footage unusable.

I remember reading somewhere, don't know if Im wrong, but back in the day the realease of the video was before Britney's comeback with the VMA's and Womanizer, and the PCD were going to be her openning artist at the TCSBS so team Britney pulled the cameo because they didn't want people to associate Britney's comeback with the PCD and avoid getting people to think they helped her in some way to be back. Something of that sorts.
