What were your guys' first thoughts on toxic?

when you first heard toxic, did you know it was gonna have such a huge impact on pop culture and music? or did you just pass it off as another album track at the time ITZ was released? 

I clearly dont remember exactly how i felt but i remember not being allowed to watch the video bc it was too ****** for a 6 year old  but i dont remember the exact moment so ill live vicariously through you guys 

what were your thoughts?

loved the track and was an instant favourite. one of those moments in britney's career that was ACTUALLY iconic.

It had a pretty instant impact. Constant radio play and airtime on MTV. As a 9 year old non-fan back then it annoyed me lol, but probably because it was unescapable hearing it.

I loved it immediately! It remains my favorite ITZ track. Everytime being a close second.

It’s such a standout track to me especially because besides these two and BOM and TOMH I’m not  huge fan of most of the songs (however I do appreciate her creative approach on ITZ.)

Toxic matches my love for catchy but creative and experimental songs. Plus I love the whole vibe of it. Very 007

I loved the song on first listen, it was my favorite on ITZ (and still kinda is).

I liked but I didn't understand its full potential. I was disappointed when it was announced as a second single! It grew up on me so much that now it's one of my all-time faves. I think it should have been the first single

I instantly loved it! It was one of the few songs where I didnt need to see a video or a performance to fall in love. At the time it was so different from anything else out there. I remember just having it on repeat all day for weeks when I first gor the album.

Yeah I’ll just assume he legitimately disagrees with every post of mine instead of excessively downvoting for no reason (which could lead to warning points)

I knew it was really good, but it wasn’t my favorite. The video elevated it to another level.

I loved it from the very first listen and it instantly became my favorite Britney song. I played it day and night, my family got so sick of it. My failed attempt at converting them to the Divine Holy Spearit. But i still love it and even more than I did back then.

Yeah they uploaded toxic, outrageous, touch of my hand, brave new flop and everytime!
