But..Of course not. Painting pop girls as the girl next door is a tactic as old as time. Janet was marketed as the sweet wholesome little sister, hence her coming out album of Control. Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Paula. All of them sold wholesome images that they wanted to break from. Britney wasn't a pioneer in doing that.
