It was for the new football league season. I'm probably not using the correct terminology cause I'm not american but it was just hyping the sport in general I think.

am just saying that it was really werid that she hasnt performed being the face for pepsi for many years . That maybe she was banned after all her contract didnt get renew due to rumored investing in coke stocks. Maybe that pissed them off

That's not true. Neither the NFL nor the artist pays to do the halftime show. Heres how the selection process goes.

"It's us, the artist, and the NFL, and at the end everybody has to align. The NFL contracts the performance and NO MONEY IS EXCHANGED."

Britney isn't banned lmao. Why would investing in Coca Cola stocks piss Pepsi off? She literally headlined at the B96 Pepsi festival last year. She isn't performing because there's no demand for her.

And for those of you britards who are saying people want Britney, just watch Wendy Williams and you'll see like only 1 person in her audience wanted her to perform, and these are WOMEN, some of Britney's biggest supporters. 

For those of you saying Gaga wasn't wanted, that's not true. As of this moment, Gaga has a bigger American fanbase, and she has a better reputation with the GP because she sings live and she dances consistently. Even if Britney's SB performance were as good as Gaga's people would still rip her apart because they're going off of the bias that was already working against her in the past.  Plus if Britney were going to perform at the Super Bowl, she should've done it during her prime in 2004.

What they look for in a headliner for the halftime show.

Justin Toman, Pepsi Sports marketing director, "It's one of those cases where you look at the small set of people that could pull that kind of a show off. Sets up in 7 minutes, it's a 12 minute show, and they have to break it all down again in 7 minutes.

In those 12 minutes of the show someone has to deliver power, punch, performance, singing, lights... who has the reach, the social following, the album sales, who's trending, who's in cycle."
