I thought the whole point of her doing these mid tempo songs was that we were finally going to get live vocals. She was supposed to sing live at the VMAs but they turned her mic off. It's pretty obvious she's had vocal lessons considering this is the best she has ever sounded. I'm just wondering

She wasn't supposed to sing live at the VMAs. I honestly believe Britney has put in her contact that she does not have to sing live anymore.

Surely any record label would strongly encourage their artist to at least sing over a very loud back track. They know how silly she looks lipsyching on stage with other artist who are singing live.  Billboard 2011 was almost embarrassing to see her lipsync while Rihanna and Nicki Minaj sang live.
