  1. This movie is literally a part of my childhood. I love this movie and have been wanting to binge watch it lately for nostalgic purposes. This movie is so underrated. Britney and her acting skills are so underrated. This movie needs to be on Paramount+ as they were the motion picture who released it in the first place!! Where is Crossroads? Britney fans, we need to petition to have Crossroads on streaming services! Are you a Crossroads fan?
  2. Justin Long spoke fondly of his time working with Britney Spears on Tuesday while commemorating the 20th anniversary of Crossroads, the film they co-starred in. "I remember her being so down-to-earth, like disarmingly down-to-earth," he told ET's Cassie DiLaura at a press event for his upcoming film, Barbarian. "I remember being struck by how normal and easygoing she seemed for all the hoopla surrounding her," he continued, "and then a couple years later seeing what the paparazzi did to her, it was really sad that we live in that kind of culture that can do that to a human being. She was so nice to everyone." 🔴SOURCE: ETonline PS: In 2020 he also talked about Britney, and as always, he only added nice words towards her, here is the old article. CLICK HERE!!
  3. On February 15, 2002, Crossroads was released in the United States by Paramount Pictures. The teen drama film was written by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Tamra Davis; MTV Films was in charge of the production. The film stars Britney Spears as Lucy Wagner, along with Anson Mount, Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, Kim Cattrall and Dan Aykroyd. Jamie Lynn Spears also made a special cameo as a young version of Lucy, Britney's character. Despite receiving mostly negative reviews by the critics, the movie was a box office success, grossing over $61M worldwide in three months. Britney Spears created the concept of the movie, which was originally titled "What Friends are For", along with her team, and this was later expanded by Shonda Rhimes. With a budget of $10M, the production of the film started in March 2001, but it only wrapped up until six months later, due to the fact that Britney was recording her third studio album. The movie was first premiered in Cannes on January 19. Britney held a press conference to talk about it. The US premiere took place in Los Angeles on February 11. The performance on the movie got Britney some nominations at the MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards, but didn't win any. She won Worst Actress and Worst Original Song at the Golden Raspberry Awards though The following months she traveled across the world to attend various premieres at different places. On February she was at the New Orleans premiere On March 08, she was in Cologne, Germany. On March 12, she was in Paris, France. March 18, Stockholm, Sweden. March 19, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 5. On February 05, 2002, Britney Spears released I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman, the third single off her Britney album (second single in the US). Max Martin and Rami Yacoub wrote and produced the song, along with additional writing from Dido. The single also served as promotion for her movie Crossroads. The song didn't perform well in the US, only reaching the #2 on the Bubbling Under chart, but it reached Top 10 in many European charts. Recorded on June 20, 2001, we were able to see a little bit from the recording session on MTV's Diary of Britney Spears: Britney said: "The song is called 'Not a Girl' and it's basically talking about, you know, I'm not a girl, but I'm not yet a woman. You're just in that transitional stage in your life where you're just figuring yourself out, and something that I can definitely relate to". Britney also explained the song was talking about growing up, and that it was going more towards her character Lucy, though she could kinda relate to that too. The only tour where Britney performed the song was the Dream Within a Dream Tour, but she performed the song live on many TV shows and awards shows too. 6. Am I the only one that feels this way? I can't quite put my finger on how Britney's look changed by the time she was actually promoting the movie.
