Britney shares a clip of 'The Ring' on Instagram: Does anybody remember this movie where they hold this little girl captive?

Theres a new documentary on Netflix about people that fell into a religious cult. One of the ex members says something pretty profound about life actually being worse when you leave a situation where you are told what to do and when to do it every Day for years. The psychological damage that’s done is almost delayed. You have to relearn how to think for yourself and function in society. That poor woman was very vocal about being suicidal.

Take the conservatorship out of it, the last couple years have been the first time in 25 years where she hasn’t had handlers guiding her every move and handling all her affairs. Besides 2006-2007.

idk about you but I’d rather read angry resentful rants about how she was treated unfairly, date “bad seeds” and act bizarrely than have her be in a place where she wanted to die.

the problem with all of this is that literally no one has ever been in this situation before so no one can say “I truly understand”.  To be in a conservatorship, while working, earning hundreds of millions of dollars, under the scrutiny of the public is a combination no one has experienced. Shes on an island of her own. And she needs to figure it out on her own.

Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey?

this one is top 3 the most disturbed doc I’ve seen on Netflix, it’s super crazy and I was like in shock for a week.

Ring is a scary movie. The way she "threatens" saying stay cozy there is nothing to worry is borderline not funny. Does she even understands the movie is about killing  people.

Britney does really make it harder and harder for herselv

I just saw it pop up on my Instagram. Honestly, is anyone else bored and tired of her talking about being held captive?

Like, I get talking about it in an effort to push for change or do something about it, but this is so “teenager who’s mad at their parents and sits in their room for hours on end trying to get attention from her peers.”

For someone who doesn’t want to be painted as a victim, she sure does remind everyone how much of one she is.

And I’m bored and tired of fans like you who dismiss her lived experience, trauma and healing journey. For you, maybe you can easily turn something off like lights and move on. But you’ve never been in her shoes and will never understand.

Pro tip: you can easily unfollow and save yourself from your own misery.

In all seriousness I remember thinking this was the scariest movie I ever saw as a kid, ESPECIALLY the part when she first crawls out of the TV ahhhhhhhh

The japanese version is the version I saw. This other one is just too much.

The Omen (2006) is one of my favs, I’ve seen at the cinema back then and just discovered the first one is from the 70s, I want to see this one.

I loved the original version of the Omen. Also checkout rosemary’s baby. They made some really good horror movies back in the days.

Actually my response comes from having been through struggles and actually taking the steps to work through them and not let them define me.

No, I was not in a conservatorship, but trauma is trauma and no, I have no sympathy for someone who decides to perpetuate a victim mentality while not doing anything productive with their platform. The idea that so many idolize her for being so "strong" is hilarious to me because she shows anything but strength. If Britney is the level of inspiration that some of you get off on, it really shows how shallow and out of touch with the real world you are. There's a reason the general public doesn't even care about her situation anymore.

"So why are you here..." is probably the question most will follow up with and the answer is simple: I love her music and her celebrity life is entertaining to me - but it's not any deeper than that. So you may not like my opinion (just like you have yours) but as Britney herself once said, "that's America for you..."

Wtf do you mean she shows anything but strength?!! That fact she made it out of that ALIVE is more than strength!

I always knew Britney was trying to kill us by posting this cursed videotape!! We’re all going to die in 7 days!!! Jk jk

that being said, I’m sitting in the toilet wondering what these supposed new projects that Britney is doing (possible Weeknd collab would be insanely awesome!)

She's just talking about a movie. If you're getting sick of posts by analyzing them as about being controlled, please just leave. There's literally nothing anyone can do for you.

Anyway I like all the versions of 'the ring', they are all a bit different even from the og book. Quite a sad story. (The US version's digital girl was a bit funny for me tho.)

You say that you've been through your own struggles and took steps to work through them, so why are you putting down someone else's path to healing just because they don't align with your own? Very condescending if you ask me.

I would imagine there are more horrors Britney had to endure during those 13 years, and more so during that stint when she was locked away, that are not in the book, which she'll never reveal to us because they are that traumatic. And let's not forget she's been a media punching bag ever since she was 16 years old.

As someone else said, if my own family made me a prisoner, took away my hard earned money, subjected me to unfathomable trauma, and weaponized my own kids against me, I would not be here. But the fact she is, speaks volumes. And she was still able to muster up enough courage to put all that trauma into a book and release a few songs for her fans. At the end of the day, she's navigating her life as a free woman, and still manages to see good in the world after everything she's been through. That is strength. It's disgusting that you, as a fellow trauma survivor, lack a modicum of empathy for her.

Omg right? I died when this came out. I had no business watching it. Looking back though, I feel like the Japanese version is probably so much scarier

How about she wasn't allowed to speak freely for 13 years and maybe she's going to keep repeating herself as much as she wants to ?

She could not want to be seen as a victim but also is having a hard time getting over 13 years of what she went through. Both things can be true.

Wowsers this is a tone deaf reply.

She is angry. You don't get to complain about how she chooses to process that. There's been literally no retribution for her. Everyone who abused and trafficked her for 13+ years have gotten away with it. Shes made out to be a mental case like NOTHING happened to her.

So you can leave now. Byeeeeee.
