To non Texans—that cow in the picture is an emblem of Texas…Texans are SUPER proud that they bred cows with really long horns. The Longhorn is the football team mascot for one of the major universities: University of Texas Austin (aka UT Austin)

In Texas if you call a person a longhorn, it means they attended UT Austin.

So this breed of bovine is super gentle. Also in many cultures bovine are symbols of strength, abundance, fertility, blessings, courage, perception, community, mother earth, productivity, holiness, and hard work.
