I've read this a thousand times and I can't see Selena's shade. I'm a weirdo... 

I think Britney's words are always misinterpreted, for example, when 90% of people thought she was throwing shade at Sam's sisters (when what she was really doing was a comparison of family dynamics). 

Even in her testimony to the court, in which she mentioned Paris Hilton, the latter clarified the situation by saying; ´´She meant that when she saw her, she couldn't even believe it. What she said was, when people hear that, they say, 'Oh, it's Britney Spears' [or] It's Paris Hilton. They have these perfect lives. Who's going to believe [them]? I didn't even believe Paris, who's going to believe me?"
