Mexican pop princess Fey is releasing her new single The Perfect Song tonight, featuring DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold who has remixed songs for many different artists, including Britney Spears (Gimme More), Madonna, Maroon 5, Michael Jackson, Adele among many others.

Fey releases this as part of the celebration of her 25 years of career, having also uploaded some of the official music videos that were missing on her YouTube account, earlier this month.

 

She's often called the "Queen of the 90's" in Mexico, since she gained a lot of popularity and success with her first three studio albums which were more teen/bubblegum pop oriented, however, she was one of the main artists to bring the electronic sounds and Euro Dance influences to the Latin scene, mostly in her deep cuts.

In the 00's she explored even further these electronic genres, but since she went independent, she never got the same popularity she obtained at the beginning of her career.  Some people often label her as "the Mexican Kylie Minogue" not only because of the musical style, but because they even argue they have similar physical features.

Fey is even a self-proclaimed Kylie fan, naming Into the Blue the best song of 2014.

Finally the song, I'm feeling it, I think I need to let it grow on me a little more, I love the way her voice sounds, it reminds me of her Vertigo days.

I feel like she should've released this in 2010

but it kinda grew on me after the second listen. It's not bad, and it's definitely better than the reggaeton she tried to do with her latest single

This DJ already has a long career, so it's understandable why it sounds kind of outdated, but I think it's really danceable anyway, and I still listen to a lot of old songs, so yeah

 

She looks incredible, I can't believe she's 47. I wish it got an official music video, but I can almost see that it won't happen. That's the downside of being an independent artist, without the support of a record label to do bigger projects. It's like the DVD from her last tour that never happened.

Yes, I hope that phase is over, I can't deal with her doing anything else besides pop music honestly. I really tried to force myself to like it because I really like her but it just didn't work out

Honestly I'm okay with this video anyway, I hope she performs it.

Speaking of her working with people did you ever know what happened to that project she was working on with Billy Mendes from the group Motel, I remember them working together but I don't think I ever saw anything come of it, or did it ?

I think it was the ABBA tribute album- She did Super Trouper

I had no idea when it came out, I found out about it years later I really never knew that it was even happening. Back then I just kept streaming her DVD Todo lo Que Soy, and I didn't know about any side projects.
