It would not surprise me if that was the case and it does only count England. A lot of things in the UK/Britain only consider England and everyone else in the nation gets forgotten about..

Oh c'mon. If anything, it's some people in other countries that seem to consider the UK 'England' and just forget about the rest of the nation. I highly doubt the UK Charts would be based JUST on England otherwise Wales and Northern Ireland would not be accounted for.

It Would Not Shock Me,  I Don’t Mean To Bring History Into This, But The Reason Ireland Left The U.K. Is Because The English Are Considered The Most Important There (Even Though They Most Definitely Are Not).  It Would Surprise Me If The U.K. Singles Chart Is Only Based Off The Of England.

Yeah I do know about that, but I'm not sure that the charts would be based off of England alone. It says this on their website:

"With our finger on the throbbing pulse of the British record-buying, digital-downloading, music-streaming public, the Official Charts are the UK’s only official, trusted weekly barometer of what’s popular in music right now."

Hmmm, That Strange...  I Read On The BPI That This Specific Chart Was Based Off Of England Only.

Do you have a link for this?

I Read About It On Their Website,  I Believe You Can Also Find It On Wikipedia If That Helps As Well.

Ireland didn't "leave" the UK, the Irish fought for independence from the UK after 800 years of oppression. Get your facts straight sis :ohwut:

I think someone needs a history lesson love! Where are you from love?

Does someone have a chip on their shoulder?

I mean there is no English First Minister... like there is for the devolved nations... so hardly think they are the most important... England is also not asking for independence referendums every few years; unlike some of the other nations of the U.K. who feel they have more self importance over the rest of the United Kingdom.

Thanks, although BPI doesn't really give that much info. It's a certification body anyway so not the same as the charts.

The Wiki article for the Official Charts Company mentions the company conducting the best selling singles of the week for the UK though.

I’m Sorry I’m Getting Way To Intense,  I Need To Calm Down Lol.  I Know There Is No First Minister For The English, I’m Just Thinking From The Perspective Of The Irish Back Prior To Them Becoming The Republic Of Ireland.  There Was So Much Tension  Between Them And The English, All Irishmen Believed That The English Had It Better And Were Being Put First.  They Were Fighting For Their Freedom They Deserved.  Just That :)

Yeah but why would England need any of those things when it’s basically in control of everything anyway?

Other parts of the UK have First Ministers to make sure that part of the country gets heard over and above the English voice because these places get ignored more so than often by Westminster. That would also be the reason those same places probably want independence - not because they feel more important than England but because they feel they get ignored. And we 100% do get ignored.

No hard feelings, I’m just saying...
