And this holds up against the Taylor Swifts, Beyonces, Rihannas and Katy Perrys because while albums sales slowed in the coming years, Britney had far stronger competition than any of those four mentioned.  (Releasing OOPS! I Did it Again one week before Eminem's biggest selling album The Marshall Mathers LP)

Since Michael Jackson is on that list I thought it is worth asking does anyone know what other artist has duetted with Michael Jackson?  (I know that before she was a recording artist Sheryl Crow did as a backup singer.)

A lot. He has duet since he was a kid (Motown).

I don't think I'm able to list them all. Below are some of his duets, collaboration and features.

  • Janet Jackson - Scream
  • Siedah Garrett - I Just Can't Stop Loving You
  • Paul McCartney - Say, Say, Say
  • Paul McCartney - The Girl is Mine
  • Britney Spears - The Way You Make Me Feel (30th anniversary special)
  • Stevie Wonder - Just Good Friends
  • Diana Ross - Rock With You
  • Diana Ross - The Wiz (Musical)
  • Freddie Mercury - State of Shock
  • 3T - Why
  • Akon - Hold My Hand
  • Biggie Smalls - Unbreakable
  • Princess Stephanie of Monaco - In the Closet
  • Iman - In the Closet (Short film version)
  • Patti Austin - It's the Falling in Love
  • Heavy D - Jam
  • Wreckx-n-Effect - She Drives Me Wild
  • Notorious B.I.G - This Time Around
  • Shaquille Oneal - 2Bad
  • Dave Mason - Save Me
  • Jermaine Jackson - Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming
  • Carol Bayer Sager - Just Friends
  • Kenny Rogers - Going Back to Alabama (Michael as background)
  • Kenny Loggins - Who's Right Who's Wrong
  • Barry Gibb of Bee Gees - All in Your Name
  • Judith Hill - I Just Can't Stop Loving You (This is it concert)
  • Eddie Murphy - Whatzapwithu
  • LL Cool J - Serious Effect
  • Santana - Whatever Happens (Guitar)
  • Slash of Guns N Roses (Guitar) - Dirty Diana
  • Eddie Van Halen of Van Halen (Guitar) - Beat It
  • and so on

Diamond certifications—awarded to those works that have shifted at least 10 million equivalent copies between pure sales and streamingare reserved for the biggest and most successful albums and songs, while more than one of these rare plaques means an artist is truly a legend. :slayney:

I meant a live duet on stage.   He's obviously recorded songs with other artists (just as pretty much every artist has).  I know Slash has done this with the guitar a few times.  And it does seem Michael and Stevie Wonder performed that song one time which was unfortunately not captured on video. (Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming was performed live as The Jacksons)  But who else?

Adele won't be the first to out-diamond Britney though. Shania Twain has 3 Diamond albums.

yeah I know but wasn't Britney the last woman who had 2 diamond albums before Adele ? I guess she was. that makes me sad but whatever. she is not like she cares about it.

Yes, she was the last one to get 2 before Adele came along.

Should have been In the Zone and Blackout instead

no way. Spotify+Youtube would only upgrade the certification from x4 to x5. Not much else.

Yeah I just checked and it's stalled around the 4.9 million mark. :gloria:

Just goes to show you how hard it is to achieve a Diamond album. Especially someone who achieved two of them before she turned 20, that's incredible.

Teenney, ha power :orangu:

So does anyone know if the King of Pop has shared the stage with anyone else?  (I would also add Siedah Garrett to that list)

If not, I'd be very surprised if Britney holds the performance with Madonna in higher regard than the performance with Michael Jackson given how few artists have actually shared the stage in a duet with Michael Jackson while many have performed with Madonna.
