if you sign yourself into a facility there's no way to circumvent being held for 48hours no matter who is begging for it. ppl really need to be educated how these systems work. this can happen to any person who is not famous also. they can keep you for months if the judge wants that.

Months decided by a judge??

The only way that can happen here is if you comitted a crime basically.

You are rarely a danger to yourself purely with a mental illness that needs months of being held against your will. You switch up your meds and then youre on your way. Thats followed up by outpatient treatment. Not ideal all the time but still.

Rehab is one thing but how many people can afford that?
