I don't blame MTV though, I bet the wanted Britney to perform when she got her MJ vanguard award and it's highly likely she didn't want too.

I also don't blame Beyonce stealing the shine with Britney performing before Bey, nothing was going to change that basic performance she did with G Eazy. 

I so blame MTV though for Britney losing VMA's for BOMT, Toxic and Slave.

I remember there were rumors she was going to perform “Outrageous” at the 2004 VMAs but had to pull out due to her knee injury. It was supposed be Cleopatra themed, does anyone else recall this?

Not sure how legit these rumors were and while the song isn’t my (or Britney’s) favorite, I just know she woulda ATE that stage up.
