Today can be hard with those who have nonexistent relationships with their dads

There are many reasons why today, Father's Day, may be hard for some of us. I know that for me, during this Pride Month, it is extra complicated.

 

My thoughts go out to all of you as well as to Britney. Although we have nothing to be ashamed of. We live the life we've been dealt and dare to be happy doing it

Thank you for this message. While I don’t have a non-existent relationship with my dad, I wouldn’t say I necessarily have a smooth sailing one. Being gay and knowing that I will never walk the same or similar path that my dad walks, and have completely different struggles than him, always makes me feel like there is a wedge in our relationship. Even though I know there is mutual respect there.

It’s complicated for sure, that’s what I’ll say.
