idk if this is a good explanation but as far as i know a ref track / reference track is a track used for getting the general ideas and sounds for an artist's next songs

 

also "Spin The Record" was produced and "released" (didn't exactly make it to store shelves but is on some Melodi Brown CDs) after "Bad Boy 4 Life"
