I'm only making this thread so I can bump it in two/three years and say told ya so... 

Recently, NFL wants the Superbowl performer to have ties/cultural connections to the city hosting the game.

Miami (2020) - JLo & Shakira (Latin Themed)

Los Angeles (2022) - Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg (West Coast Rap Themed)

Obviously, Britney is often cited as the Queen of Vegas...and was born/raised in Louisiana. Just something to keep an eye on for the future. 

I think both scenarios would have the NFL reach out to HER. Obviously, the decision will be hers (and only hers!) in the end.

Dua Lipa (One more time x Levitating) and Nirvana reunion with Frances Bean on vocal should be joining her as well.
