Glad for change and it’s definitely a positive moment/outlook, but I was humiliated laying in bed at home listening to the Britney song references in the speech. This is not a joke. It’s a serious matter. We don’t need to be looked at as a mockery. I know some may not see any issue with it, but I didn’t like it. Still, good news.

Edit: didn’t read any replies before responding. Glad others feel the same @jordeezy

i agree to an extend, but then i see that the official document is not written like this - this was just his way of presenting the bill which does not go on the record / is not part of the bill proposed. https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billCompareClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220AB1194&showamends=false

i personally think it was an endearing way to do it, i wouldn't have personally done it this way, but we need to respect his wishes as he has earned his position and maybe he loves britney spears very much and wanted to make an impact to his community by honoring her songs... i dont think its that important, but yes i see your point.

also, the bill passed too.

17 yeses and 0 nos, the NVR votes are like abstinence or not present, so don't really count.

I was nervous it could impact a decision by being made a mockery, but now that it’s passed I don’t feel as strongly. Still a little cringey tho lol
