Favorite song and album from the 70s!

Recommended Posts

So, with the turn of the new horrible year and decade (:jj:) I have decided to do a series of what’s yr favorite music from each decade. So what better to start the series with the 70s:livinggg:. The rise of music! To give you a quick run-through what music was like back 4 decades ago, there were two genres that most primarily owned the decade. Rock and disco. Rock had dominated the first half (early part) of the 70s, with artist such as Aerosmith, David Bowie and Queen reigning in the rock era :goat: rock seems to having a smooth transition towards the mid-late 70s. However, it’s reign was haltered by the legendary genre, Disco. Disco seemed to have a higher and more successful peak compared to rock. It made many disco artist such as ABBA, Bee Gees and Donna summer highly popular. Many soundtracks like Saturday night fever, not only popularized disco clubs, but also furthered the success of disco.
So what was yr favourite album and song from the decade? Let me know :sendinglove:

Well.. I love 70's music but as a big ABBA fan I would recommend you to listen to their complete discography. They are mainly POP but their most disco album is Voulez-Vous. Recommend you the Deluxe Edition:

01 As Good As New
02 Voulez-Vous
03 I Have A Dream
04 Angeleyes
05 The King Has Lost His Crown
06 Does Your Mother Know
07 If It Wasn’t For The Nights
08 Chiquitita
09 Lovers (Live A Little Longer)
10 Kisses Of Fire

Bonus Tracks
11 Summer Night City (Full Length Version)
12 Lovelight
13 Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
14 Dream World
15 Voulez-Vous (Extended Remix, 1979 US promo)

Michael Jackson's Off the wall.

And The Jackson's 1978 Album Destiny

Plus The Wiz soundtrack.

Plus at that time. A remix just meant an Extended version of the dance track for dancing

Ironically. The recording academy in 1980

Created the best disco recording category.

And Guess who won it.

The King of pop himself for Don't stop til you get enough.

But in 81. They removed the category

It was very homophobic indeed

But ironically Disco never left Europe

Still to this day. Dance music and various forms are the preferred genre for Pop music in Europe. Acts like Kylie minogue are a great example

Thankfully, disco has been having a resurgence this year! The full future nostalgia album...say so...stupid love and so many! Really excited to see what the decade brings in! I would love the 70s-80s hitting back in full force. Thinking about it, it’s funny how discos popularity and influenced outlasted rock
