Why was everything POM related so cheap?

I've been wondering. POM gave us some of the worst Britney moments in her career, but there were also some highlights that were better than her previous post-breakdown tours. Still, I really don't get why they insisted on giving us the minimum in many aspects:
 

  • The cheap wigs when it started back in '14
  • The always declining quality and aspect of outfits (some even bought from AliExpress which I'll never get over )
  • Choreo constantly being watered down
  • Acknowledging Toxic choreo was kinda cheap, bringing a new one only for two occasions (The BBMA and then NYE events) and never bringing it to POM
  • Replacing props with people on POM tour
  • The lack of Props for Live in Concert and POM in general
  • General cheap make up and outfit design (although the first might be Britney's fault as some threads have stated)

Why do you think they chose to treat POM that way? Even in FF, when she looked the worst performing / body / appearance of her career, they made the show more expensive, with good stage design, great props, great outfits (DESIGNED for a superstar, not bought from some random site). Did they want to make some statement, like 'she alone is the show! she doesn't need gimmicks to prove her stardom' or something else? It's not only on the money aspect (I don't think it would be that expensive to make her better costumes or better props), for someone who gets bored easily, POM seems less lot fun than her other tours to perform.

It's the Britney/team B way and I've come to accept it. I can't see the quality changing for anything that they put out going forward with her career - if she ever comes back. It will always be cheap or scrapped. I poke a lot of fun at it all and it is infuriating as hell, however I am still a stan for life :gobaby:

I've wondered this too. She still makes a ton of money so I don't understand why the quality has gone down so much. The whole appeal of seeing a Britney show is that you will be seeing something spectacular. That's why her her lipsyncing has never bothered me. She was always dancing and when she wasn't, she did adventurous or shocking performances. POM ushered in an era of just blah performing. I love Britney but she needs a show geared around big props and gimmicks. She doesn't sing, she dances occasionally with enthusiasm, and we all know as of late her costumes/hair/makeup are a disaster. She needs a huge spectacle to distract from these things:staysalty:

This isn't a Taylor Swift show where the artist need all that production to hide how mediocre they are on stage

love these threads... all the dumbasses criticizing POM :evilpatrick:

in a few years they will be praising it just like they bashed and criticized both TCSBS and the FFT :jj:

probably most of you didn't even go to any of the shows and are judging off youtube and IG 1 min clips :truthtea:

most of you don't even know what you're talking about so y'all should just log off

I mean let's take for example... DWAD tour. Some of the costumes were horrendous (looking at you stronger/Anticipating) 

yes her dancing was amazing during that tour. They had fireworks (select arenas or theaters don't allow it) which Britney was performing in casinos for POM US tour.

It's a completely different experience being present at the actual concert than seeing videos. The DWAD tour had dull moments but the magic of video editing on the DVD make the whole show look as a spectacle.

I'm not denying that they could add more wow factors to her shows, additional props, etc. Better dancing, costumes and so on. Hopefully they do.

I'm not even a POM hater you know...I usually praise most of it, as I said it was, during various phases, better than TCS and FFT, and that's why I get sad when I see some aspects of it were cheapened down.

I saw the show 4 times in Vegas and once when she came to NYC.

Piece of me in Vegas for the most part was good because of all the props and having the Britney chips and flowers fall on you during different parts of the show. It was a full experience Also the costumes during the first few years were decent. You can tell thought was put into it. In terms of Vegas, my least favorite experience was in 2017 but 2014, 2015, and 2016 (the best) were all good.

but we can’t deny that the tour was such a terrible mess and was a money grab. I paid more to see her in NYC and I felt like it wasn’t worth it. The costumes during the tour were just sloppy and messy. I get skimping out on bringing props on the road but there’s really no excuse for Britney to look so bad. Like she can have a crap stage but why does the star herself look like a cheap mess. It doesn’t take much to carry a little bag with hair and makeup products and some decent costumes.
