How many Max Martin songs do you want for B10?

It isn’t 2008, a Max song doesn’t automatically equal a #1, and in fact... Britney’s had 13 singles with Max and only 3 of them have hit #1, 4 if you want to count Oops in the UK.

Plus, the garbage he’s been doing for the newer acts recently isn’t any good either. He’s past his peak. Watch some Ariana stan come and throw “Into You” at me... that song is monotonous and bland, just like the Witness singles and that new Taylor song. And a flop. And will not age well.

He's still writing and producing great pop songs. Plus, Can't Stop The Feeling was one of the biggest songs of last year and Can't Feel My Face was one of the biggest the year before that. He's still doing really well and is undeniably one of the best pop producers.

JT and The Weekend in the studio with Max is not equal to Britney in the studio with Max.

Britney has enough experience with Max where she doesn’t question or contribute to anything. She goes in, is presented with the song and if she enjoys it, she records it... but only records it the way Max intends it to be. She explained this on that Max documentary she was interviewed for. There’s no give and take, she’ll be a puppet for him. That isn’t the case with other producers where she feels comfortable enough to present her own ideas and actually collaborate with the producer.

CSTF is the first ever Max and JT collab and while it was a feel good huge hit, it’s not an incredible song, rather just a run of the mill radio jam that probably won’t be mentioned ever again. It hasn’t added anything of value to JT’s catalogue in terms of artistry or a milestone, it’s just a quick little hit single.

The Weeknd is a whole ‘nother ball game. Abel is very meticulous about his craft and has a strong personality so it’s not like Max will get to boss him around the way he would another, more meek artist.

The only thing Max has to offer Britney anymore is a quick little single. That will eventually burn out and sound dated in 5 years, like most of his other work. Max is good at what he does but that time for Britney to be churning out disposable singles is over. It’s time to be taken seriously. What’s the point of pandering to pop radio and the charts if she isn’t going to bother to promote or play the celebrity game anymore? Those MM songs become big because the cards are played well.
