You're the one person in this thread who is willing to think outside the box. Truthfully, if no one told me I would've thought the song was just talking about a sad ex, even when parts of the song didn't flow with this ex narrative.

It's not uncommon for songwriters to mask the true meaning of a song behind something else.

Interesting take on it. But I kinda feel the song could mean anything. The song is pretty vauge and who knows how in depth Britney was in the project. But If U Seek Amy and Mmm Papi have differnt meanings to them. So really who knows.
