Britney settles with Sam Lufti

Britney Spears is ending her own 7 years war with Sam Lutfi ... the ex-manager who accused her of rampant **** abuse and slandering his name -- the case has settled.

Lutfi and Spears reached the settlement agreement late last week ... according to docs obtained by TMZ. Sources familiar with the situation tell us ... Britney paid Lutfi "in the low 6 figures," but less than the estimated $500,000 in legal fees it would have cost her to defend the lawsuit.

Lutfi filed the defamation case against Britney and her family back in 2009, claiming the entire Spears clan was bad-mouthing him and blamed him for her downfall ... after she was hospitalized in 2008. Lutfi claimed they were outta line because the real problem wasBritney's **** abuse, which he tried to stop.

A judge tossed his case in 2012, but Lutfi appealed and got a second bite of the apple. A trial was set to begin in L.A. next month.

Sucks that she has to pay him for it but it's for the best, deal is probably that she pays him and that he never gets to speak a word about her or her family ever again.

Yep that's the whole point of a settlement. Neither of them can ever come back on this.

That's so cool. Sucks in a lot of ways, but definitely the best decision if it means she can now completely detach and move on from this scumbag. Good call, Brit!

Good, in all honesty 500.000 to her is like 100 usd to most of us, dont forget he asked to be paid in millions so the fact he settled for this means he knows ppl r catching up to his lies so he took whatever was offered to him. Britney obviously settled too because she needs to move on from it, and this is the best way, finally, now she can focus on more important things.
