  1. On October 5, 2007 Britney Spears officially released her Gimme More music video through the iTunes store, after having leaked the day before. It debuted on October 8 on TRL and other outlets. It was directed by Jake Sarfaty and it was filmed on July 19, 2007 in Los Angeles. An alternative version with unseen footage leaked in 2011.
  2. On December 14, 2007, Britney Spears released the Piece of Me music video to promote the second single off her album Blackout. It was directed by Wayne Isham, who had worked with her in the past for her I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman video. In an interview for MTV, Wayne talked about the concept of the video: He also talked about the fact that Britney arrived 12 hours late to the shooting: In 2008, Piece of Me was nominated at the VMA's for Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, and the most important award of the night, Video of the Year, winning all three of them. This marked the first time Britney won a moonman ever. Britney talked about it in a radio interview saying: "It's a cool video, but I think by far I've done videos that are way better, so I was really shocked that it got [Video of the Year]. It was just inspiring, though, because now, going forward with the videos that I'm doing now, I can really go there and do something crazy and see what happens". By 2008, the website About.com revealed that Piece of Me was the 12th most watched video of all time with 47 million views (times sure have changed since lol ). Originally uploaded to Jive Records channel, it was later removed and submitted to her VEVO channel in 2009, where it reached 100M views on December 13, 2017. There's an International version of the video, which the only difference it has it's extra footage of Britney wearing a short blonde bob wig at the beginning of the video. In MTV Latin America, it landed at #39 on the Top 100 videos of 2008.
  3. On November 27, 2007, Britney Spears released Piece of Me, the second single off Blackout. It was written by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg (Bloodshy & Avant) along with Klas Åhlund. The electropop song talks about Britney's relationship with the media. Despite the unwritten rule of not writing songs that talked about Britney's personal life, the producers recorded the song anyway and sent it to Britney, who loved it and decided to record it. Piece of Me was actually the last song of the album to be recorded. According to Winnberg, she learned the lyrics of the song in her car while she was heading to the studio, where she finished the song in less than half an hour. Robyn, who also recorded a demo of the song, provides background vocals, alternating with Åhlund the "piece of me's" that we hear in the chorus in a robotized voice, while Bloodshy & Avant sing the "Extra! Extra!". After the album release in October, Britney talked about the song in a small interview she had with Ryan Seacrest over the phone The song peaked at #18 in the BBH100 but hit the #1 on the US Dance Club Songs chart. It was Top 10 and several countries, including #1 in Ireland. She's performed the song in her Circus Tour, Femme Fatale Tour, and her Vegas Residency, which was named after the track, Britney: Piece of Me. In 2008 a Remix EP was released The music video wasn't released until December, so we'll "celebrate" that later
  4. On October 25, 2007, Britney Spears released her fifth studio album Blackout. The dance-pop / electropop record was executive produced by Britney, and recorded between 2006 and 2007. Other collaborators of the album were Danja, Bloodshy & Avant, Sean Garrett, Jim Beanz, Keri Hilson, The Neptunes, J. R. Rotem, among others. Blackout incorporates Euro disco and dubstep influences and its lyrical content revolves around fame, ***, clubbing and the media scrutiny she was subject of during the time of its recording. Though the album was scheduled for a November release, it had to be rushed released due to a leak of the tracks ahead of time. It was released on the 25 in Spain, and in the subsequent days it was released across other European countries and Australia. It was officially released in the US on October 30. In June Britney had posted on her website a poll for the fans to choose the title of the album. The options were: OMG Is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like What If the Joke Is on You Down Boy Integrity Dignity Ultimately, in October Jive Records announced that the album would come out in November and that it would be titled Blackout. According to Jive it “refers to blocking out negativity and embracing life fully.” The album peaked at #2 on the US BB200, becoming Britney's first album not to reach the top position on that list. It was also #2 in France, Mexico and UK, but it did reach #1 on the European Top 100 Albums charts, as well as the Australian, Canadian and Irish lists. Three singles were released off this album: Gimme More, Piece of Me and Break the Ice. Besides the VMA's 2007 performance, the album didn't receive more promotion except for phone interview with Ryan Seacrest for his radio show. No tour accompanied this album either, however, many of the Blackout tracks were performed during the Circus Tour in 2009, as well as subsequent shows of Britney. She mentioned Heaven on Earth as a highlight of the album. According to Ezekiel Lewis of The Clutch, Radar was also intended to be released as a single but was pushed back once she started recording new material (after being placed under the conservatorship). In 2017, The Fader did an article for its 10th anniversary, where Britney commented about the album Danja also shared his experience recording the album You can read more of it here. In an interview uploaded to Britney's official Youtube channel to promote Circus (released a year after Blackout), Britney is asked to compare both albums and describes Blackout as darker and edgier: In 2008, Blackout won Best Album award at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and also International Album of the Year at the NRJ Awards. In 2012, the album was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's music library. You can listen to the album here:
  5. Do you think she is ever going to perform there again? A small part of me says not but then another part says that she will. If she does she would have a lot of pressure on her due to how bad 2007 went and the media would go crazy... Thoughts?
  6. “Baby **** you...” I mean the way she says that line slayed my 15 year old existence and still does. The ATTITUDE. The SASS. The NOT giving a F! We love this Britney. This song has always been intriguing to me. It’s so dark, gritty, truthful....B girl was serving a mood. Anyone have thoughts on this song? Know any fun facts? Memories? Who is it really about? I'd be curious to hear everyone’s opinions. Now there’s another ringing my bell...
  7. Was just thinking about the 2007 Allure photoshoot and how amazing it was. And how in I Am Britney Jean she didn't recall the shoot at all. That's our girl. I can't locate the article but I remember she arrived, took the photos, and left. Does anyone have the Allure article link? I know there was no interview, but I can't remember what Allure said. I think I recall it being super shady. What do you think was going on that day? In the gallery below, the makeup artist recalls her being very present and animated on set and talking about her kids, etc. The hair stylist said that when she arrived and took off her blonde wig, she had her inch-long hair and seemed shocked by it. Do you think she did the photoshoot, saw the photos, got feeling really insecure and bolted? https://www.allure.com/gallery/britney
  8. With all the drama going on I feel like I need to pull a Jesus and resurrect Clitneys place on this forum, people usually get eggs at Easter but this year I'm giving y'all leaks ******* !! https://britneyspearsunreleased.tumblr.com/post/184363248852/im-a-slaveeeee-4-u-hq-snippet-from-the
