Public humiliation- with the secret recordings and other things they were able to blackmail of releasing those.

 

2 Using Tactings

I have been thinking the same, some of the cruelties make me think scientology etc.. with all the money, power, exploitation and abuse involved, it is so cult-like. And also knowing that Jamie and Lou were praying for the conservatorship to happen.
