Britney Spears' 'Glory' Debuts At No. 3 In The U.S.

Britney Spears' new album Glory opens up at No. 3 in the U.S.

Following the news Britney landed at No. 2 in the U.K., news broke the pop star will secure a No. 3 position on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Billboard won't release their figures until Sunday, but a report from Hits Daily Double confirms the news.

Barbra Streisand leads the pack with 149,934 in pure album sales (151,116 in sales plus streaming). Florida Georgia Line trails behind at No. 2 with 128,727 albums (148,175 sales plus streaming) and then Britney at No. 3 with 91,903 pure album sales (115,922 sales plus streaming).

To put things into perspective, 2013's Britney Jean debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 107,000 copies, giving Britney her lowest-peaking record in the U.S. ever.

In terms of pure physical sales, Glory is Britney's lowest-selling album to date, but the times have changed significantly in how listeners consume music, as has the formula for charting now that a streaming algorithm is included. When factoring in sales plus streaming, Glory surpasses BJ.
