Nicki from her very first feature in bedrock was different to any other female rapper, and she has created a whole new genre of rap which has brought it into the mainstream and allowed artists such as Megan and Cardi and countless others to come through.

Trying to detract from that is just nonsense.

Her style, from the jump, has been and continues to be one of the most iconic influences in pop culture, standing entirely on its own from any past acts. 

Lmao, yes, she was influenced by artists like Madonna, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and Lil Wayne, as she’s said many times. But claiming her style is totally unoriginal is just foul. The era of discrediting Nicki’s influence in POP CULTURE, not only in rap, is gone and buried in 2012. She is thriving right now, a legacy act in her prime with the best selling album by a female rapper in 2024, and the highest grossing female rap tour of all time. Nicki Minaj is MOTHER!

What about her being the originator Instagram Baddie from 2014-now? Are we discrediting Nicki from being the blueprint of the INCHES? Baby, nobody does a BUSTDOWN better than THEE NICKI MINAJ:

Nicki has been cosplaying Lil Kim her entire career, and that’s fine, but it isn’t original.
