Did Joshua Bassett copy/draw inspiration from this Britney Spears demo?

DISCLAIMER: I've been meaning to make this thread for over 2 years now so please forgive me.

When I first heard "Lie Lie Lie" by Joshua Bassett in 2021, I couldn't help but think it sounded awfully similar to Britney's demo of "Conscious". Other than the fact that the song sounds very early 2000s, the guitar strums and drum pattern are almost identical.  

That being said, do you guys think it was simply a sheer coincidence or do you think Joshua and his producer used this obscure demo as inspiration? Should Britney sue or put Joshua on blast? Let me know your thoughts!

Yeah, it sounds like a polished version of that vibe...

But I feel like this is the original inspiration for both (though Conscious and Lie Lie Lie rely more heavily on the drumming rather than the guitar):
