Anthony Preston shares tea on Team Con, what Britney said to him about her situation in the studio & constraints with the BJ album

In the new episode for “Alien” on the Original Doll podcast, he talks about how he tried his best with what he was given (team CON BS) - tried to keep Britney motivated (seems like she was genuinely checked OUT as we know) and tried to deal with the horse**** (he used that word) of it all.

He wishes he could have done more for Britney both inside and outside of the studio and he wishes he was stronger back than to have done that. She was asking him for help back then but everything was so highly controlled it was so difficult for him because he was new to all this. 

He says he’s cautious about what he shares about his private conversations with Britney but he does say that she told him “I used to be so strong, I used to be in control of my career” and he’s proud to see her be strong and take control of her life and career. He said he’ll leave it to Britney to share her story about this album when/if she’s ready too but mistakes were made, some which he could have tried to fix back then but a lot that was out of his control. 

He mentioned with “Hold on Tight” she said to him “umm..I wrote a song and I want to record it” and he said “let’s record it” and she said “do you think I’ll get in trouble?” and he said “you won’t get in trouble for recording a song”. 

With Alien, the 2nd verse was not written so when he shared the song with Britney, she asked if he could help her with writing the 2nd verse and they did that together. 

He also said he’s glad things have been exposed on what truly happened to her back then and he hopes it puts things into perspective on the constraints around the BJ album project/production.

Can you imagine being a woman of 30 years old, also a legend, an icon of pop music and be affraid to get in trouble for... Just writing a song? I hate them so deep! 13 years is so long, we will never know all the things they did to her, all the fear, the trauma every ******* day, I wish them the worst!!! So glad it's finally over and that the next album will be 100% Britney!

He also confirmed that the Vegas show put pressure on the process and that the management (Larry and Adam, who were credited as A&R) made the song/producer selection more political rather than creative - so the point was to have all the hot producers then for a quick hit.

Britney Jean really did have potential, but it ended up being destroyed by Larry, Lou and the rest of Team Con. Imagine if she was able to take her time and be motivated when recording songs like Alien.

Also, Hold On Tight is probably the best track that came from BJ, even though I'm not particularly religious. It was truly one of the few genuinely personal tracks we got from her "most personal album to date."

exactly... i wish someone would actually say something at this point... literally no one has and its so annoying... like come on tell it like it is - why are people still tiptoeing around the whole conservatorship. same with tinashe in that video just posted of her on the kelly clarkson show. i wish she would've said something about the conservatorship dynamics.

but i guess its also good that other artists respect her privacy and kinda let her be the one who tells her story.

I think it's testament to how much they like/love and respect her. In other sectors (politics), hell, other artists even, there would be books galore coming out about it from all sorts of people trying to cash in.
