everytime a song is played in germany (festivals, not private parties, clubbing) the initiators have to pay a "fee" to the gema, which is the company that distributes the money to the artist (like spotify gives artists money for every stream). Google did not agree with the amount the fee was and therefore blocked every video with content from musicians whose rights were handled by the gema with a board "due to failed negotiations with the gema this video is not available in your country". And without a warning the boards were gone and google (youtube) and the gema seem to have settled after seven years (2009) for good (November 2016).
