MTV ****** Her Over....

I'm not surprised this network ****** over Britney. This is the same network who stood by in 2007 and did nothing. They saw the headlines and the news...knowing that what happened in 2007 could happen, happened. They wanted ratings and they got it.

No different this time. Don't you guys see it?

They hyped Britney with that commercial and talking about how she is going to do something she has never done before. Yet they didn't mention Beyonce would be performing yet alone a whole medley of her album.

Then they place Britney after Beyonce performance.

It wasn't that Beyonce performance was better then Britney. It was the components of the performance.

Beyonce seemed to take over all the budget and did a whole medley compared to Britney who was there to promote one song "Make Me". Which is a slow sensual song. There is only so much you can do with it.

Britney did it well...she looked beautiful, sensual and had confidence like we've never seen before but it was stripped down and simple.

Place that right after a movie blockbuster budget performance and of course people are going to compare. Had Britney performed this by opening the show...people wouldn't be comparing the two, she'd actually be praised.

MTV wanted this to happen to create controversy and articles comparing the two. They knew this would happen and they sabatoged Britney.

If I were Britney I would totally boycott the VMAS. **** them!!!

She doesn't owe them ****. I'm glad their ratings dropped through the roof. Good riddance.

Oh god another thread blaming everything and everyone.

Britney is responsible for her own performance. Of course MTV is going to say it's going to be iconic and ****.. What did you expect from them? Do you really think they're going to say: 'Well Britney's performing but it won't be iconic or anything so you better have low expectations' ?

Re-read my paragraph and then come back to me.

Had Britney performed first or last and not after that Lemonade music movie charade she wouldn't have gotten as much flack as she did.

There was nothing wrong with her performance. It just didn't go with the flow of the show at all. And that has all to do with MTV. They pick the placements.

I feel like it felt more of a g eazy featuring britney performance. She should have added another glory track so the crowd could get hype for a britney song. Love me down would have been perfect considering they didn't release the original make me video so why not go ahead and promote single number 2. The whole thing felt very plain & boring. It wasn't bad, but it was completely forgettable & slow.

Look.

Beyonce released an "entire visual album". She didn't release "one single" at a time. If Britney released Glory as a full visual album. I'm sure they would have let Britney perform a longer segment, like BBMA.

Britney and Beyonce's ambition levels don't currently match. Beyonce worked hard and deserved her awards. It sucks but that's just the truth.

So develop a more mature outlook and stop whining like a child, and look forward to the future.

Putting myself in Britney's shoes, I wouldn't have had a relationship with MTV after what happened in 2007. Maybe it's a case of burning a bridge by having that attitude but I stick by what I'm saying.

I realize it's not just Britney. That's the way it is now. "We're still gonna be talked about whether the artist gets up there and nails it or if they completely **** up. We will ALWAYS win, even if the artist loses."

It makes me think of something I saw on youtube one time with another favorite singer of mine. He was supposed to perform and I'm not sure if he was drunk/high or what. He had a bitchy look on his face like he didn't want to be there. The people at this club could've easily let him stand there and look like a fool but instead they escorted him out. Britney's life was chaotic in 2007--I would think compassionate people would have a backup plan just to be on the safe side. Take one look and see that she's clearly not able to perform that night and block her from going out. They ripped her to shreds over that performance and I don't really  remember MTV taking any heat from anybody--"why did you let her go out when anybody could see this was a disaster waiting to happen?" It sickens me picturing the people that were rubbing their hands together with glee because they knew that this was going to be good for them.

I realize this is just my opinion but I don't even really think much of MTV anymore. It holds no weight at all to me anymore. I think of MTV (now) as being nothing but a reality show channel.

MTVs are complete garbage now anyway. It was hard to watch waiting for Britney last night

You and me both. I think it's easier to watch awards shows if you like a lot of people on the show. When you're watching for one person only, it's a snoozefest waiting for the person you're waiting for.

MTV doesnt pay for the performances, the artists and their  team does.

MTV just gives them the stage and the airtime

I've been a seatfiller for these shows, MTV, BET, Etc., and I've talked to the producers. Actually, the artist does get paid to perform, the artist gets paid when they win an award. If the artist has an album out, they get paid less versus if they do not have an album. Nothing about these shows are real -- from the casted audience members to the celebrities.

MTV has been using Britney and ******* her over for years. The woman who MADE the VMAs relevant in the 00's didn't win a single VMA until Larry bought them in 2008 :donewithit: But, its been a trade off because MTV played a huge part in Britney's success..

Also, it's Britney and her team's fault for letting her return to the VMA stage with that performance, tbh.

Let's just move on and enjoy the slayage that is Glory tbh :rihclap:

Next smash single, please :comingthru:

It's not MTV who plans what they gonna do, it's their team. Britney is responsible for what we got.

I wish they would be honest sayin something like "It's gonna be a minimal performance but it will be awesome" or something like that.

The way they hyped was unfair to the fans and didn't match the performance.

I'm just happy I have no expectations for this Glory era and I'm being surprised gettin things as they come and it's been pretty good so far.

But if you read my paragraph. I have no issue with the performance. It's the placement that MTV picked to place Britney right after Beyonce.

Beyonce had a blockbuster performance wand they chose to put a stripped down simplistic performance right after it. It just didn't flow properly. Of course it's going to get compared. That's what they wanted and they got it at Britney's expense.

Agreed. They let her open the show when she was not prepared.

And this time when she was prepared with a good performance so they did that with her.

Plus a couple of people that I know they have told me that they minute Britney wore the jacket and grab the mic, she was about to sing live over the playback recording and that was the reason at when she did the "woohoo" before her line she pointed her finger up to open her mic and when she was about to remove the jacket she pointed at her mic again to open it, still they didnt open it. May be it was Larry who always think shes not ready.

Remember the way her lights were turned off when she was about to do that awesome dance break in fft promo on GMA. So half blame either goes to Larry that how he let that happen and half goes to MTV.

Hope Britney never performs there again !!

Plus the worst thing that I felt was after her performance, when the camera went back to those 2 black hosts who were doing flop comedy, they didnt say any good thing about the performance at all. They said G-Eazy with Britney.

Then the camera went back to the backstage and that extremely annoying black fat girl was complimenting Beyonce and was talking about 2 more rihanna performances. Wtf..

Britney's performance was good had it had more production value, props or dancers, it would have looked better. Plus the lazy camera work made it look very cheap. So indeed MTV played her yet again.
