If that‘s the case, usually gays like the more young (under 25), small, boyish, feminine type of guy. I guess if you are in cities like London, NY, LA, you can get away with that androgynous look like Sam does, but as soon as you are in a more conservative part of a country, you will get backlash, in your everyday life but also in the dating game.
There are also a lot of gays who only dress up androgynous for a party/club, but look avarage in their everyday life. Kinda complicated topic.
