Charlie Hebdo 2020... When will people learn? What will be done against those damn radicals? Obviously, those radical Islamists still exist, but it's a no-no to even mention it (just like it's a no-no to question the official narrative about increasingly restrictive lockdown measures).

And how could an 18 year-old be so damn radicalized, eh? Some of today's youngsters are even more extreme than their parents and grandparents. Where does that come from?

Whatever that teacher did or didn't, the crime of blasphemy was abolished in France decades ago, but it's obviously back, it seems.

This is so sad and I'm surprised that nobody has commented. I'm all for religious freedom and whatever, but Muslims shouldn't go around demanding that everybody follow their holy book's rules when it comes to the Muhammad thing or alcohol consumption and whatever else they're against.

@Stefani I'm also surprised. Maybe this should be mainpaged, but you know how volatile political discussions tend to get... Members that got along become enemies in an instant, when it's just a discussion.

Sohail Ahmed: @Bayal Rehman there are multiple ways in which the alliance between the far left and the islamists in Europe (as opposed to America) is playing out with respect to what is happening here:

A) Support for mass immigration from the Muslim world as opposed to drip feed immigration

B) Rejecting attempts to deal with roblems in the Muslim communities as Islamophobic (see what is happening here in the UK with respect to the Prevent policy)

C) Enabling the most extreme Muslims by backing them publicly under the guise of anti-racism and multiculturalism

D) Shutting down criticism of Islamists and tarring it with the brush of essentialising far right racism

E) Disabling integration by unravelling the pre-existing nation identity (although this is more of a general point)

All of this creates an environment whereby Islamists are enabled and emboldened to do what the suspect did here.
