She would thrive in comedy

She would be great. She could also be the voice for an animated character like a princess. That would be a studio job without interaction with a camera crew etc.

Stop! Everything she does isn't iconic! 
crossroads is not iconic, it's known only by the fans, it's sad 'cause actually I think it's a good movie, but I expected more from Britney's acting, analyzing what she did in the Mickey Mouse Club, she was a good natural actress, I don't know what happened later, but what she did in SNL and Crossroads, she took a step back, she herself said years later that she is a lousy actress, so.... 

She might be good for comedy, but she is not a dramatic actress.

Shonda Rhimes who wrote the movie went on to extreme success.

I'd love that.

It would be interesting if she did something serious like a period movie, or even a villain.

But I think she would be great in comedy, I loved all her cameos in TV shows (except glee).

And if she did, maybe preferably something that isn't 'Superstar-ish', something out of the box. More like the sub character Abby from HIMYM.

and since she said she loves Modern family, maybe something similar to that. Just a normal fun character that works hard and encounters series of sitcomish situations lol.
