@CrazyButItFeelsAllright I'm having trouble quoting you because of the videos, in fact I've been having a lot of issues with that this last week, if I want to expand a quote or quote a comment with a video, it plays the video instead of quoting, but anyways.

I didn't see your post, in fact is not loading for me neither lol am I the only one having issues with embedded things?

Question. How is Break My Soul #3 when it had three people subtracting votes? I thought you subtracted those from the overall votes as well. Because this way gives them a larger edge when they should have less of an edge when 50% people disapprove of the song so that should also be a majority vote, right?

I've always favored the positive points. Negative points get counted at the end.

Because then what would happen if someone subtracts a point to a song in the top that didn't get any new votes this week? Would I just ignore it? No, instead that negative point would need to be counted in the overall total (Top 17 songs start with an edge already). So to make things easier I need to treat all the cases equally and count negative points at the end.

 

Now, if you see Exhalers' vote list, the ones that have (-1) are the songs that are currently not in the Top 20. That negative point comes from the "None of these" answer. But I always subtract just 1 point regardless of how many people vote None of these, because yeah, I favor the songs already in the Top (that's why you can't vote None of these in the first question), but I also don't want to make it impossible for new songs to get in.

New songs that are not part of the Exhalers' Vote list, do NOT get a point subtracted.

 

In the particular case of BREAK MY SOUL, the actual interpretation should be that 6 out 11 people voted for it, so that's more than 50%. Only 3 out of 11 disapproved it. As I say, I prefer to give more importance to those that are actually voting, supporting a song, than those that are hating lol yet, I still give them the chance to reduce points, because sometimes that makes the difference from one position to another (for example this week, BREAK MY SOUL would be one position higher if it wasn't for the negative points).

If those 6 people actually voted in the comments as well, they could've potentially given BREAK MY SOUL 20 points each, or more realistically, it would get a varied voting, but it would be more than what the Exhalers' Vote gives it, so in the end those of us that do vote in the comments still have the biggest influence in the other positions.

 

In all these weeks this seems to be the most "positive" approach, even if it seems rigged, and still we've seen all kinds of cases, from songs that were at #10 or something and despite all the advantage I give them they still fall out of the top 20 from one week to another, and similarly, songs that were flopping at the bottom, and suddenly entered the top jumping 20+ positions.
