Why does the colour change when you copy and paste text?

Is there anyway to change this? I remember us being able to change the colour

whenever I try to copy/paste articles it either goes dark grey or black and it's hard to see!

The key is to "paste as plain text" instead of just "paste" because that will literally paste what it is with color.
