This is why I say that I don't believe this was the original VMA performance.

There's just NO WAY that shadow puppets were the #1 go-to idea for her big return to the VMA stage.

She worked with NY dance company Pilobolus. That's who is making the shadows in the back. I think it's pretty awesome!

I haven't seen a single fan pick Britney apart. Everyone's been raving about her performance.

Her costume colour, on the other hand, clashed with the lighting and looked cheap as hell. And whoever allowed that should be fired.

The first half of the performance is great. I do think there is a vibe change when she becomes G-Easy's guest performer. I really enjoyed the performance though and even more so here.  The performance looks lit better in this fan cam.

Exactly!

It was a unique idea to work with a dance company, but it was poorly executed. And the VMA's isn't the place to do something like that. I can see it as a performance on Dancing With the Stars, or The Voice. But not the VMA's.

And it's not just her fans complaining....I've had friends who KNOW that I'm a Britney fan try to nicely avoid the subject, and when I do bring it up their comments are along the lines of, "It's hurting her brand."

It was an awesome concept but it didn't finish well enough

imo after MM&I, Britney should put the head mic again, and go flirt with G-Eazy near the shadows where the shadows interact with both of them somehow
